The Lydd Half Marathon 2012

The Race

For many years in the 1970’s and 1980’s the Lydd Half Marathon was a popular feature on the South of England road running calendar attracting many top athletes from both the UK and overseas. However the organisers decided not to continue with the event and the race disappeared.

In 2008 the race was revived after a number of year's absence. Now organised by specialist race organisers Nice Work, the event is once again established as an integral part of the pre-London Marathon training programmes for many runners.

In addition to attracting particpants from the south east, runners from all over the UK and overseas have enjoyed this fast, flat Half Marathon.

The event raises money for the Mayor of Lydd’s Charity Fund which will be looking to help local charities and good causes.

As well as the main Half Marathon event, there will be a Children’s Race, open to all youngsters wanting a Sunday Morning run.

The 5th Lydd Half Marathon takes place on Sunday March 11th 2012. The race starts at 10.00 am with the Children's Race taking place at 9.45 am.

All finishers will receive a medal and a goody bag and there are prizes for the leading runners, including a £100 cash prize for the first man and first lady.

Online entries are available now or you can download an entry form here.
